What it covers
Every quarter, the technical data sheets and labelling of the products in the portfolio covered are audited in the light of the regulatory changes of that period. The result is a risk matrix that ranks products and findings by severity, together with a remediation plan with specific deadlines for each.
What it does not include
It does not include implementing the remediation measures identified (redesigning labels, updating technical data sheets, changing claims), which are quoted separately. Nor does it include assistance in a sanctioning procedure already under way, or the regulatory assessment of a new product before launch — for that, see the novel food status assessment, the borderline products assessment or the claims review.
Access conditions
The service is reserved for clients whose product portfolio has already been analysed by the practice, usually following a previous or current engagement. Auditing a portfolio without that prior knowledge of the products does not allow findings to be prioritised correctly. The fee depends on the number of products to be audited and is not published as a fixed figure: it is set in the initial onboarding conversation.
Process
At the start of each quarter, the client provides the current technical data sheets and labels of the products covered. The documentary analysis is carried out against the regulatory changes of the period, and the prioritised risk matrix is delivered with the corresponding remediation plan within the timeframe agreed at onboarding.
When this is not the right service
If what is needed is a one-off review of the labelling of a single product rather than a periodic portfolio audit, the labelling compliance review is more precise and more economical. If the practice has not yet analysed the company's portfolio, it is best to start with one of the transactional services.
